The controlled steam delivery is actually quite well-engineered. It provides consistent moist heat therapy that's beneficial for meibomian gland expression — similar to what we recommend for dry eye treatment, but far more convenient. I've started recommending these to patients who struggle with traditional warm compress compliance.
